Play Therapy Consultation

Service Description

Play Therapy consultation is designed for clinicians seeking guidance in using the therapeutic powers of play in an ethical and effective manner. Karli is a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor™ or RPT-S™. She generally practices prescriptive approaches with play therapy clients and additionally specializes in Infant Play Therapy or play therapy for children within the 0-3 population. Within the play therapy field, Karli has been is a Certified FirstPlay® Practitioner. FirstPlay® is Infant Play Therapy, which overlaps with Infant Mental Health. With this said, Karli also uses many strategies, rooted in play therapy, in her work with adults. Play therapy consultation sessions focus on case conceptualization, play therapy techniques, family systems, developmental considerations, and professional growth. Play therapy consultation is ideal for therapists pursuing play therapy credentials or seeking encouragement, insight, and practical guidance to support meaningful therapeutic work. Your consultant cannot be your ongoing service provider. Consultation is not the same as ongoing services, where a therapist develops and implements the treatment plan. Additionally, due to variables across disciplines and state lines, Case Consultation is considered "academic consultation" unless the individual is under Karli's supervision within the state of New York. Academic Consultation is the term used when the individual is independently licensed  to practice in another jurisdiction, which Karli may not be licensed in, and maintains responsibility for abiding by their ethical code(s).
