LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (LMHC)
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY: We are a small private practice that is seeking eager, reliable and passionate clinicians to join our growing team! Our practice is person-centered and dynamic, with a strong emphasis on development and trauma informed care for individuals of all ages. The position is for an LMHC that will be responsible for conducting individual sessions with clients either in person or virtually. LMHC can be either part or full time and scheduling is flexible. LMHC is responsible for clinical duties only, scheduling/billing will be taken care of.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete client intake/assessment
• Conduct individual sessions with clients in accordance with treatment plan
• Complete progress notes/applicable documentation
• Attain and maintain ROIs required to collaborate with client’s clinical team as necessary
• Communicate with colleagues/team members as appropriate (i.e. billing changes, time off, case consultation etc.)
• Maintain awareness of best practices and ethical code
• If working virtually, must have workspace conducive to telehealth and awareness of best telehealth practices (HIPPA compliant platform for videos and payment will be provided)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Masters Degree or higher
• Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in NYS
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• MUST BE ABLE TO WORK INDEPDENTLY AS LMHC IN NY
• Ability to build rapport with a diverse client population
• Cultural competency awareness/trained
• Awareness of safety precautions and de-escalation strategies
• Strong/effective written and verbal communication skills
• Motivated, organized and able to work independently (supervision is not provided)
COMPENSATION: By percentage, contingent upon experience.
