COACHING SERVICES
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a structured, goal-oriented process where the coach helps the coachee improve performance, develop skills, or achieve personal or professional goals. Unlike mental health counseling , coaching does not include a mental health diagnosis or treatment plan. Coaching sessions are structured by your personal goals and your coach will assist you in achieving these goals. At its core, coaching is about:
-
Clarifying goals – helping you define what you actually want
-
Raising awareness – exploring your thoughts, behaviors, and obstacles.
-
Encouraging accountability – keeping you committed to action towards achieving your goals
-
Unlocking potential – drawing out existing abilities while practicing strategies to help you meet your goals
A coach typically uses questioning, active listening, and feedback rather than focusing on direct instruction. Coaching and therapy can both involve deep conversations, personal growth, and support, but they differ in purpose, focus, training, and scope.
Coaching is future-oriented and action-focused while Mental Health Counseling helps people heal emotional distress, manage mental health conditions, process past experiences and prepare for the future.
If you are receiving coaching and your coach believes you would benefit from mental health therapy or an evaluation, you will be referred to an appropriate provider.
